Aloo keema is an indian potato and (minced meat) curry that’s a little less spicy than the rest.
INGREDIENTS/
- 300g ground beef
- a thumb of ginger
- Garam Masala spice mix or (2tsp curry powder, 1tsp cumin powder, 1tsp coriander powder, half a tsp cinnamon, 1tsp tumeric, 1tsp chili powder )
- 5 bay leaves
- 1 onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 tomatoes
- 300g potatoes
- 2 carrots
- 2 fresh chilli
- 2 tbs yoghurt
- 1 stalk of fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup of green peas
Dice the carrots, onions, ginger, tomatoes into small pieces.
Roughly chop the potatoes into bite size chunks.
Using medium heat, brown the meat with all the spices and chopped veggies, except the potatoes.
Once the meat is all brown, add the yogurt, and potatoes. Turn the heat to low and simmer for atleast 30 minutes.
Just before it’s ready, boil the peas in some salted water. Serve with on a plate with rice and naan bread, sprinkled with peas.
